Motorcycles submerged by flash flood on road in Bangkok
Motorcycles were submerged by a flash flood that swamped a road following heavy rain in Bangkok, Thailand, on September 24.
Shocked resident Weerasak Rordwinid recorded the deluge in the Rama 9 area of the capital city. it shows waist-deep muddy water and debris floating on the surface.
The water level had risen to the point where it reached half of the motorcycle wheels, rendering them impossible to ride. Some motorcycles also toppled over due to the flooding.
Meanwhile, cars were still able to navigate through the flooded area at a slow pace as the water level had risen only to half the height of the wheels.
The Philippines and neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are in their annual monsoon rainy season which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rain storms in the afternoon leading to widespread flash floods.
