Sisters go viral wearing WEDDING DRESSES for casual dinner
A group of six sisters and their mother have gone viral on Instagram after wearing their wedding dresses out for a casual dinner.
Hannah Joy Bonin, 30, had the idea after spotting a post on social media of a woman using her wedding dress to do household chores.
The Bonin family – sisters and sisters-in-law, Madeleine, 28, Alexis, 25, Annalise, 23, Kate, 18, and Sydnie, 26 – and mum, Terri decided to take inspiration and wear their own gowns out and about.
A video of the family donning the unusual dinner outfits in a local restaurant has gone viral, racking up more than seven million views and 750,000 likes on Instagram.
The women can be seen strutting down the street in their white gowns, before sitting down to eat and attracting plenty of looks from bemused locals – some of whom started filming them.
“We were instantly recorded the second we stepped out of the car,” Alexis, from Texas, US, said.
“We were complimented and asked multiple times what the occasion was.”
Sydnie said of their planning efforts: “We already had the date on the calendar so it was easy to pull together- the only difference was that this time we would wear our wedding dresses!”
Eldest sister Hannah Joy said: “My favourite part of the night was watching people’s reactions to us!
“They were admiring, and also a little confused...”
Unknowingly, they picked a busy night to dine out, as there was a graduation celebrated at the same place they chose to dine.
Sydnie added: “We felt a little bad about ‘stealing the show’.”
After enjoying their dressy dinner, the ladies have decided to make it a yearly tradition.
Annalise said: “This is cheesy but my favourite part of the night was being all together in our wedding dresses.
“We made a core memory!”
Mum, Terri said: “My favourite part was just making a spectacle and being silly with my girls.
“We definitely made a memory that will last a lifetime.
“We hope to see more people out and having fun in their wedding dresses!”
Instagram users loved the display – and shared their own tales of wearing their gowns post-wedding.
One person commented: “I wear mine every year on our anniversary - it’s too expensive of a dress to not wear it!”
“First of all, this is sooo cute! What a pure and sweet tradition to have together! Second, genuinely trying to figure out who is the mom cause ya’ll look like the fountain of youth!” said another fan. [sic]
Someone else added: “This is so cute.”
“This needs to be a thing. Why be a princess for just a day?” another viewer agreed.
“Planning this girls night asap,” someone else commented.
