State Disaster Emergency Response Force (SDERF) officials rushed to the aid of two youths who were left stranded after there was a rise in the water level of Machna river in central India's Madhya Pradesh.

They had gone out to cut wood when this incident took place in Aamdhana near Shahpur in Ghodadongri assembly constituency of Betul district on September 23.

Visuals showed the rescue officials head towards the river with a boat with which they would then conduct the rescue operation. The boat was readied and an air balloon helped it reach the part of the river where they were stranded. The youths then got on the boat, wore the life jackets and were pulled to safety by the officials. A huge crowd had gathered where this incident took place and despite it being dark all around, the rescue operation was successfully conducted.

According to a report, Durgesh and Vijay Kasde had gone out to cut wood when the water level of the river rose, leading to them being trapped. They then contacted their family members via mobile phone and the latter informed the Shahpur Police as well as municipal council president Rohit Vicky Nayak about this incident. The cops rushed to the spot after hearing about this incident. The SDERF officials were informed by Shahpur police and they too arrived in a rescue operation that lasted for an hour of rescue, the youths were saved.
