Police and tourists rescue 3-year-old left in car alone for hours in China
Police officers and kind-hearted tourists rescued a 3-year-old who was left in a car alone for hours in eastern China.
The video was filmed in the city of Tai'an in Shandong Province on September 23.
Parents undertook a trek up Mount Tai, making the appalling decision to leave their young child alone in the car. With just a slim crack left open in the car window, the distraught child was discovered weeping uncontrollably within the vehicle, prompting a rapid response from police officers and concerned bystanders to liberate the distressed minor.
The child was subsequently taken to a police station for safety.
Mrs Liu, an eyewitness said: "Around 6:00 pm, near the Red Gate of Mount Tai, in the parking lot, I observed a child, incarcerated within the car, crying incessantly. Officers and altruistic tourists were ardently attempting to unlock the car to free the child."
The child reportedly continued to cry even after being rescued, causing an air of resentment to ripple through the crowd, with many onlookers expressing their ire towards the neglectful parents, accusing them of being heartless.
The police officers, after establishing contact with the neglectful parents, escorted the child from the car to the police station, offering some snacks while the child awaited the return of the parents from their excursion.
The officers confirmed that the parents had been severely reprimanded and educated on their irresponsibility.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
