A new sculpture of "Mafalda" is inaugurated in Lima, Peru

A sculpture of the iconic character of the Argentine artist Quino, "Mafalda", was inaugurated this Thursday in block two of Paseo Roque Sáenz Peña de Barranco as another tourist attraction in the district.
The mayor of Barranco, Jessica Vargas, expressed, through RPP Noticias, her gratitude to the Argentine Embassy for the donation of the figure of the Argentine sculptor Pablo Irrgang.
"To place Mafalda here on a bench facing the Pacific Ocean that opens the doors to the world and connects us with our brother country of Argentina. I am very grateful to them, after a few months of working with technicians and professionals from the embassies, this Mafalda that we inaugurate today as a symbol of peace, union and inclusion," said the authority.
The statue measures 80 centimeters high, is made of fiberglass and wears a yellow dress and bow that identifies the flags of the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima and Barranco.
