Footage shows Ukrainian forces destroying Russian trenches on the frontlines.

The images show smoke rising from the ground after the trenches were apparently hit by a large quantity of Ukrainian ordnance.

The video was obtained from the 54th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Ground Forces on Saturday, September 23, saying: 'The 54th OMbr effectively destroys the enemy.'

The images and statement were also relayed by the Joint Forces Task Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russia invaded Ukraine on 24th February 2022 in what the Kremlin is still calling a 'special military operation'.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that between 24th February 2022 and 25th September 2023, Russia had lost an estimated 276,270 personnel, 4,667 tanks, 8,927 armoured combat vehicles, 6,260 artillery units, 791 multiple launch rocket systems, 533 air defence systems, 315 warplanes, 316 helicopters, 4,895 drones, 1,518 cruise missiles, 20 warships, one submarine, 8,746 motor vehicles and fuel tankers, and 918 units of special equipment.

Russia has claimed that its casualties have been much lower but provides infrequent updates on its latest figures.

Air raid sirens have been sounding in every region of Ukraine this morning, Monday, according to reports, with the Air Force warning of incoming missiles and drone strikes.

Explosions have taken place in Kryvyi Rih and Odesa, according to reports.

Odesa's port and granaries have suffered 'significant damage', Ukrainian officials said, after Russia launched a large-scale attack overnight, despite air defence saying it had shot down 19 drones and 11 Kalibr missiles.

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that Kyiv and the U.S. have agreed to jointly produce weapons and defence systems.
