Kind speedboat tour guides rescued a sea turtle that was tangled in a ghost net off the coast of a Thai island.

The group were approaching a dock at the pier when they spotted the young marine creature stuck in the trash in Phuket province, Thailand, on August 7.

Footage shows one of the men using a knife to tear the net that had twisted around the animal's body and flippers.

Upon being freed, the uninjured juvenile turtle happily flapped its front limbs before being released into the water, and it swam to the depths.

Ghost nets are fishing nets that have been lost or abandoned at sea. Turtles are particularly vulnerable because they are often attracted to the fish and other marine life already caught in them.
