Brave neighbours saved a toddler hanging from a first-floor window in southern China.

Video filmed in the city of Dongguan in Guangdong Province on September 25 shows a girl getting her head trapped in a security net and hanging precariously far above the ground.

A man, displaying an act of immense courage, scaled the building and stood on a chair on the ledge to support the distressed child. Another man swiftly brought a ladder to aid the rescue mission, showing a cooperative spirit to save the young life hanging in the balance.

Ultimately, firefighters rushed to the harrowing scene, using specialised equipment to cut through the security bars and bring the sobbing girl safely back inside her home.

The horrifying incident occurred when the child was alone at home and accidentally fell, getting her head stuck in the protective window bars. Her cries echoed through the building, alerting the neighbours below to her precarious plight.

Thanks to the immediate and collective response, the girl was fortunate to escape the ordeal with no significant harm.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
