A large python coiled around ceiling rafters while two volunteers tried to catch it with hooks.

Footage shows the 7ft-long serpent refusing to let go of the wooden beam while animal rescuers worked on catching its tail and head with their tool in Bangkok, Thailand, on April 25.

The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
