Muted start for the first night of the Wanchai Waterfront Promenade night market in Hong Kong

As the Hong Kong Government launched a night market on the Wanchai watefront promenade on Hong Kong island, the event saw a mitigated success for its first night. As this week is the Mid-Autumn Festival week, the Hong Kong government banks on similar events to restart the night life in Hong Kong, grounded by three years of COVID restrictions.

Despite being in project for a while, the night market smacked of being incomplete, with the front signage still unlit at night. However, many young hongkongers could be seen posting about the event on their social media.
