A crocodile, which was spotted near the Sanjay Gandhi Thermal Power Station, was rescued and released by the forest department in central India's Madhya Pradesh.

This incident happened in Sanjay Gandhi Thermal Power Station in the Birsinghpur Pali area of Umaria district on September 27.

Visuals showed the forest department officials carrying the crocodile which was tied with ropes and covered with a net. It was then placed near a water body and the officials sat on the animal as it was being untied. A policeman then removed the cloth which was used to tie its mouth and released the reptile. The crocodile remained at one spot before it was poked with a stick continuously. The reptile then slowly walked into the water.

Earlier, employees of a goods train spotted this crocodile on the side of the railway track in the tripper siding. Hrishikesh Meena, the train driver informed guard Jai Chandra about this incident. The train workers then informed the management of the Sanjay Gandhi Thermal Power station about this crocodile and also alerted the people about this.
