STORYLINE:

The Chinese embassy in Lebanon celebrated on Tuesday the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC), which falls on Oct. 1.

Guests at the ceremony highly appreciated China's development achievements and positive role in promoting regional prosperity and stability. They also fully affirmed the achievements of China-Lebanon cooperation in various fields.

Also on Tuesday, the Chinese Embassy in Jordan hosted a reception in the Jordanian capital Amman to mark the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC).

The event was attended by representatives of the Jordanian government and parliament, delegates from foreign missions, and overseas Chinese residing in the kingdom.

At a reception late Tuesday to mark the occasion, Ghanaian Finance Minister Kenneth Ofori-Atta lauded China for its immense support for Ghana in all sectors of the economy, including helping the country secure a 3-billion-U.S.-dollar loan from the International Monetary Fund.

The cooperation between Ghana and China has served as a critical anchor in the West African country's economic development, the minister has said.

Moreover, the minister said the bilateral relations between the two countries have benefited Ghana in infrastructure, education, defense, agriculture, communication, and fisheries.
