Footage shot on 7 August shows the animal, Ganlin, snacking on the overgrowth that sprouted on the edge of the fence in Fukuyama City Zoo in Hiroshima, Japan.
Giraffes are the tallest mammals in the world and have long necks that help them reach leaves and other food that is usually high up in the trees.
