Rocks crash down mountain narrowly missing cars in China
This shocking footage shows two motorists narrowly avoiding being crushed under massive rocks when an entire mountainside collapses during a sudden landslide.
The video captured by the driver shows several rocks tumbling down the hill and falling onto the road near Chongzhou, a county-level city in Southwest China's Sichuan Province.
The man had just passed over the section of the road when it began getting buried under a large landslide at around 3pm on September 27.
He briefly stopped and got out of his vehicle to film the dramatic scene. Seconds later, he and another driver who is seen parked nearby are forced to hurriedly back away when the entire side of the mountain crumbles down and piles onto the road.
The earth-shattering rockfall even tears tall trees off the ground complete with the roots and carries them along. Fortunately, both drivers escaped its path on time and without injuries.
The Chongzhou Traffic Police later stated the road has been closed for traffic, adding that there were no casualties or damaged vehicles.
Emergency personnel are already on scene to kick off a massive clean-up operation.
Police added it is unclear when the road will be re-opened but will keep the residents updated.
