A mixture 0f different trips. From my forthcoming biography: "I worked with strong women and men, both politicians and co-workers, to change reality. To change reality, to change laws, to change religions, to change newspapers, to change Governments, to change the attitude of police forces, to change what doctors think, is a kind of magic. When the President of the USA, Obama, and the Prime Minister of my country, Cameron, welcomed their countries putting 'gay marriage' into law, maybe we could rest a little. All the change we achieved was due to tens of thousands, then hundreds of thousands, then millions of people saying assertively: 'We demand change and nothing will stop us.' To quote the US writer, James Baldwin: "One discovers the light in darkness, that is what darkness is for; but everything in our lives depends on how we bear the light. It is necessary, while in darkness, to know that there is a light somewhere, to know that in oneself, waiting to be found, there is a light."
