This is the heartwarming moment a romantic man surprised his long-term girlfriend with an engagement proposal while she was posing for pictures.

Michael Vargas crept up behind his girlfriend, Raquel Punlagao, at the picturesque Cagsawa Ruins in Bicol City, the Philippines, on September 20.

Footage shows Raquel with her outstretched arms with peace signs facing the ruins, while waiting for the photographer to capture her picture. Unbeknownst to her, Michael had sidled over to kneel down behind her.

Moments later, the photographer instructs Raquel to turn around. When she does, she sees Michael on one knee, asking her to marry him.

Overwhelmed, Raquel was too stunned to speak. She covered her face with her hands and turned back to him. In tears, she managed to say her sweetest 'yes.'

The happy couple, dressed in matching his and hers purple shirts, beamed with joy and shared a kiss. They then posed for a picture, with a ring now adorning Raquel's hand.

Raquel said she was the last one in the family to pose for a picture, and it was all planned that way by her fiance and her family.
