This is the dramatic moment a schoolboy shooter was arrested over a gun rampage killing at least three people in a shopping mall in Bangkok, Thailand, this afternoon.

Phasid Trutassanawin (CORR) allegedly opened fire with a Glock 19 handgun inside the Siam Paragon building in the centre of the Thai capital shortly after 4pm local time.

The former outstanding student - who won awards for his academic brilliance - is seen in the video in a baseball cap and glasses being lead away in handcuffs by armed cops.

At least four injured people were seen being carried from the mall shortly after. Police later said that at least three people had died.

Security guards were seen directing panic-stricken locals from the exit through the car park. Other shoppers were stuck inside the building - hiding inside shops with their shutters pulled down.

Police have now closed the building.

It comes almost a year to the day when gunman Panya Khamrab, 34, killed 36 people and injured 10 others in a rampage at a nursery in Nong Bua Lamphu province in the north of the country on October 6, 2022. He later turned a gun on himself during the spree.
