SOUNDBITE 1 (Chinese): TANG XIUMEI, Villager
"I need to take care of my family, if I were to bring work home and create simple circle chairs and folding chairs, I could earn between 2,000 to 3,000 yuan per month. It provides a stable income. In the past, when I didn't have this source of income, I had very little income, but at the same time had to take care of the elderly and children at home."
SOUNDBITE 2 (Chinese): ZHENG YAN, Head of E-commerce of a rattan-weaving workshop in Hanzhong
"Our main focus is on vulnerable laborers, as well as elderly people and women who are left behind. We provide materials free of charge, and they don't need to bear any costs. The finished products they create are typically purchased on a piecework basis."
