Police fired tear gas at students marching through downtown Mexico City on Monday evening, October 2.

The protesters were there to mark the 55th anniversary of the massacre of student protesters at Tlatelolco Plaza in 1968.

Police used tear gas on the young protesters after some hooded men tried to knock down the metal fences that surrounded National Palace, according to reports.
