A pilot and a worker were killed when a private jet crashed into a hangar at an airport in Brazil.

Footage shows the twin-propeller Beechcraft King Air C90GTi flying sideways over the runway with its left wing grazing the ground. The wing was seen snapping and the fuselage then skidded toward the private hangar of the Bom Futuro group in Cuiaba, Mato Grosso on October 4.

The resulting explosion killed the pilot Fernando Kawahata Barreto, 42, and a contractor working inside the building.

Firefighters said two injured people were taken by helicopter to a hospital. They were later pronounced dead.

In a statement, agribusiness company Bom Futuro said: 'Bom Futuro regrets the accident that occurred on the afternoon of Wednesday (04.10) on the runway of the airfield in Cuiaba. The company provides garage services and the plane involved is not owned by it. Detailed information on the occurrence will be provided by the responsible authorities.'

Local media reported that the accident is being investigated by the Specialized Homicide and Personal Protection Police.

The Brazil Air Force's Regional Service for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents said it was also monitoring the case.
