Anti-Ulez tank drives through London's West End, dodging emissions charge

A tank drove around London's West End on Thursday 5 October for a cruise thought to be linked to the city's newly expanded 'ULEZ' scheme.

The Ultra Low Emissions Zone mandates a daily charge of £12.50 ($15.25) for vehicles that don't meet certain low-emission standards.

The area was expanded in August to cover most of London and has invited fierce backlash, both from Londoners and from those living near London who might need to use roads that go into the zone.

Tanks, however, are exempt from the charge -- something a business called Tanks-A-Lot has taken advantage of. The tank in the video is one of theirs.

It is not clear whether the miltary joyride was a protest against ULEZ or just a jaunt for one of the firm's customers.
