An owl avoids the hot sun because it is not used to living during the day.
A Minahasa owl or what is known by another name "Minahasa Serak" (Tyto inexspectata), takes shelter from the hot sun at a dam site. This owl is supposed to be active at night. But in Minahasa, North Sulawesi, Indonesia, owls like this are caught and taken to tourist locations. They are offered to tourists who want to take photos with one of Sulawesi's endemic wildlife.
