This is the chaotic moment frantic vendors fled as a storm whipped through a market in the Philippines.

Footage shows the locals scrambling to tidy up their stalls as heavy rain began to pour at the Roxas City Night Market in Davao del Sur on October 7.

Resident Miguel said: 'It happened at around 5 pm. I was at the Roxas Night Market that time with my wife to buy snacks because there were some food stalls when the rain started.'

The Philippines and neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are in their annual monsoon rainy season which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rain storms in the afternoon leading to widespread flash floods.
