A terrifyingly high zipline takes tourists for a ride over a twin waterfall in Laos - with breathtaking views of the abyss below.

Compilation footage shows the adventurous sightseers riding across the extreme attraction that is suspended 850ft in the air in Paksong town in Champasak province.

It gives the holidaymakers a magnificent view of the Tad Fane twin waterfall, with some taking the chance to enjoy brewed coffee while hanging on the cable, making for a unique photograph.

Locals had the idea for the ‘flying coffee table' when a plantation with local varieties of beans was planted near the waterfall. Visitors can choose drinks before being strapped into a harness and sent floating over the waterfall.

Communist Laos has no coastline, but it has a spectacular range of waterfalls and untouched hiking trails. However, many of the rivers are being targeted for hydroelectric power by neighbouring China, Japan and South Korea.
