A yellow cloud engulfed a highway after a dangerous chemical truck overturned in northern China.

The CCTV footage was filmed in the city of Lyuliang in Shanxi Province on October 5.

Eyewitnesses recounted seeing billowing clouds of smoke rising from the location shortly after a heavy semi-trailer truck crashed into a barrier on the Qingdao–Yinchuan Expressway.

In a statement released the following day, authorities identified the substance onboard as 'AC', a speciality chemical known for its potential risks. The yellow powder and smoke that emerged from the accident were confirmed as byproducts of this dangerous compound.

Thankfully, despite the ominous sight and the hazardous nature of the spill, Shanxi Traffic Police confirmed that there were no casualties resulting from the accident.
