STORYLINE:
The Immigration Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government recorded 1.1 million mainland visitors during the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday.
Official data showed that the daily average visitors from Sept. 29 to Oct. 6 was around 140,000, 10 percent higher than the figure during the Labor Day Holiday Golden Week. The overall hotel occupancy rate reached 90 percent, the HKSAR government said in a press release on Saturday.
Among the mainland visitors visited Hong Kong, 45 percent of them were overnight visitors.

Large-scale events including the National Day Fireworks Display, attracted more than 600,000 visitors.
The HKSAR government will review various operations in order to prepare for its future coordination work and enhancement of visitors' experience, said Kevin Yeung, secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism of the HKSAR government.
