This is the moment a dog snores while lying on the floor after eating three pounds of wine fruit.

The incident took place in the prefecture-level city of Sanmenxia in the west of Henan Province in China on October 6.

The Labrador retriever dog ate three pounds of red bayberry fruit soaked in wine that the family planned to brew.

The fruit was accidentally spilt on the floor when the dog found it. After eating the fruit, the dog suddenly started to stagger when walking and then fell to the ground.

Its owner then left the animal to rest, hoping it would recover on its own.

The video shows the motionless dog covered in a quilt snoring as a man believed to be the owner tries to wake it up. Experts warn that most dog breeds cannot safely consume alcohol as they cannot metabolise it.

That means beverages, foods, or household products containing different forms of alcohol are unhealthy and can be toxic. Alcohol, as can be seen in the video, can cause lethargy and respiratory depression, and it can also cause dangerously low body temperatures which may be why the man decided to wrap his pet up.
