This footgage was filmed and produced 9 October 2023.
Metropolitan Police Commander, Paul Brogden, talked about Operation Eternal.
Over 400 criminals have been sent to prison in an “unprecedented" operation targeting the encrypted messaging platform EncroChat.
The force said 426 people had been jailed for a total of 3722 years behind bars in the investigation, named Operation Eternal, since it began in March 2020.
Led by the National Crime Agency (NCA) and its own Operation Venetic, it used data taken from EncroChat to identify middle-market and wholesale criminals, solve murders and tackle the drug trade, with 1200 people jailed nationally.
