Brown bears stood upright to thank a villager with a greeting after being fed in northwestern China.

The video was filmed in Yushu City in Qinghai Province on October 7.

A villager promptly threw food towards the bears. In response, they stood on their hind legs, almost as if to greet and thank the villager for her kindness.

The brown bears frequently descend from the mountain, virtually making daily visits to the area in search of sustenance. In a longstanding tradition, locals have made it a habit to feed these gentle giants, refraining from causing them any harm or driving them away.

Despite the close interactions, there have been no recorded incidents of bear attacks over the years, emphasising the harmonious coexistence between the bears and the villagers.
