An early morning burglary took place at a housing complex in Bukittinggi, Indonesia.

One thief climbed over the fence and went to the terrace, while the other waited behind the fence. The thief took all the furniture on the terrace except for a glass table.

Fortunately, the table and a pair of rattan chairs were returned the next day by someone claiming to be the perpetrator's family.

Harni Lastri, 52, whose house was burgled said the theft early last month was caught on CCTV cameras.

"We shared the footage on two social media sites in Bukittinggi until it went viral. The next day, the culprit's brother came and said he was ashamed, we had to forgive him and we withdrew the police report," Lastri said.

The perpetrator was also asked to write a letter agreeing not to repeat the same behaviour in the future, and if he failed to do so, he would be prosecuted.
