This is the heroic moment locals battled to retrieve a scooter that had been swept away by muddy torrents following heavy rain in Thailand.

The two-wheeler was washed away when raging floodwater surged through a village road in Phitsanulok province on October 5.

Footage shows how kind passers-by helped the driver pull the vehicle against the raging currents. One of them slipped amid the deluge but picked herself up to continue helping.

The villagers later managed to drag the scooter onto the other side of the road safely.
