A crafty black bear climbed up a balcony and stood on the railing to steal from a bird feeder.

Toni de Lisa was sitting in her living room in Black Mountain, North Carolina, USA, when a young bear suddenly appeared on her balcony.

Cute footage shows the yearling deftly clamber up the railings before snacking on the seeds Toni had provided in her bird feeder.

To get better access to the free snacks, the bear then acrobatically stood up on its rear legs and bent down so its muzzle could hoover up more food.

Toni said: “I am always excited when the bears show up on my balcony.

“It is only a yearling so must be finding any way of getting enough food.

“It was the first time it had come to the balcony on its own and was looking for easy snacks.”
