This is the moment a giant panda picks up a tourist's camera that accidentally fell into its enclosure.

The amusing moment took place at a zoo during the Double Festival holiday in the south-western Chinese province of Sichuan on October 6.

The video shows the panda picking up the camera. Then it appears as if it tries to lick and chew the device for a minute before deciding it is not edible, and the panda leaves it in the end.

When the camera was dropped the tourist reportedly shouted: 'This is worth more than 8,000 Yuan! You can't eat it!'

It is unclear if the camera, worth around 1250 USD, was returned to its owner.

The giant panda (Ailuropoda melanoleuca) is a bear species that is endemic to China.
