1000's march against israeli attack and blockade on gaza , Mandela dubs it a genocide of Palestinians
Thousands of Palestinian supporters clad in palestinian colours marched through the Cape Town CBD chanting Pro Palestinian and Pro Hamas slogans.
The march was led by religious leaders and members of the AL Quds Foundation South Africa
The sentiment amongst the marchers was strong around the similarities of the South African apartheid regime and Israeli apartheid. Joining the marchers was the grandson of Nelson Mandela, Mandla Mandela who accused the Israeli regime of carrying out a genocide of Palestinians. He also called for the expulsion of the Israeli ambassador and the withdrawal of the licence of Israeli airline El Al Air.
Protesters waved Palestinian flags and chanted pro Palestinian slogans, Shaykh Abdullah Gabriels who was part of the march says that south africans can recognise oppression. Israel has been imposing a blockade on the Gaza strip since 2007.
