This is the moment a fitness machine falls onto a woman and breaks four of her toes at a gym.

The gym goer was woking out in the city of Guangzhou, the capital of the southern Chinese province of Guangdong, on October 12.

CCTV shows how the accident unfolded when a young man began disassembling a fitness machine next to a coach, identified as Mr Liang and his girlfriend.

The machine then fell over onto the woman, who shouted in pain and fell to the floor.

The woman was reportedly hit in the chest, neck and waist, but after a CT examination, it was found that four of her toes were also broken.

Surprisingly, coach Mr Liang told local media that this kind of thing often happens in gyms.

However, staff at the facility agreed to pay for the woman's hospital bill and give her a discount for future visits to the facility.
