The Institute for Global Dialogue (IGD), through the China-Africa Joint Research and Exchange Programme, hosted a seminar on Thursday in South Africa's Pretoria on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) based on the research conducted by the IGD.

"In fact, there was actually a lot of positivity, take people want and like to do business with China, from a communications point of view, but people, South Africans, need to know firstly what the BRI is about, what needs to be done, what opportunities exist for all stakeholders, all sectors and all population groups, young people, professionals and so on and what needs to be done, a plan where everyone knows what needs to be done to take advantage of the opportunities that the BRI presents. So we have to have a national conversation on this issue."
