A pet dog's day went from bad to worse - sitting in floodwater while his owner teased him.

Footage shows the black mongrel with a sad expression as he was perched outside of their home amid the heavy deluge of rain in Tak province, Thailand, on October 3.

He occasionally looked at his owner, who had taken refuge on the roof of their home, while she burst into laughter.

According to her, she called for the dog to come many times, but he stayed in the same spot, looking defeated.

She said the mutt usually runs around outside in the neighbour but he was despondent because he could no longer play because of the flood.
