This is the dramatic moment a military helicopter crashed into a rural neighbourhood in Colombia on Sunday 15 October.

The MI-17 aircraft registered EJC-3378 from the National Army of Colombia had been carrying out supply and personnel transport operations when it lost control and crashed into homes on the outskirts of Anori, Antioquia.

Footage shows the helicopter appearing to lose altitude before slamming into residences in the municipality. Military personnel were later seen carrying supplies out of the helicopter's wreckage.

The Military Forces of Colombia said there were no fatalities reported, but five uniformed officers and two civilians were injured.

They were rushed to a hospital and were in a stable condition.

The military forces said in a statement: 'In view of what happened, a team of specialists and technicians was assigned by the Colombian National Army to carry out investigations to determine the causes of this event. In addition, the national army alongside the Antioquia government will support the affected family in the recovery of their home.'
