These images reportedly show the burning remains of a downed Russian Mi-8 helicopter gunship after Ukrainian forces shot it down.

The images were obtained from Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on Sunday, October 15, along with a statement saying: 'A Russian Mi-8 was shot down. Great work by the 25th Separate Airborne Brigade. Burns well. Well done, warriors.'

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, in what the Kremlin is still calling a 'special military operation.' Today marks the 600th day of the full-scale war.
