A 3-year-old boy with his head stuck in a bin nodded off awaiting rescue in eastern China.

The video was filmed in the city of Hefei in Anhui Province on October 15.

The toddler amusingly managed to get his head trapped inside a trash bin, and despite the anxious efforts of his family, he ended up falling asleep out of sheer exhaustion before they could free him.

Father, Mr Zhang, narrated the series of events with a mix of amusement and concern. He revealed that the incident occurred when the toddler was playing in the living room. With both his mother and nanny present in the house, the mischievous boy somehow saw the outer shell of the bin and decided it would make a wonderful crown. However, his royal aspirations quickly turned sour when the bin became firmly lodged in his head.

The material of the bin was too tough for the usual household scissors. In a slight panic, the boy's mother made a frantic phone call to her husband, requesting him to procure a larger pair of scissors. The poor child cried so much from the ordeal that by the time his father arrived with the required tool, the toddler had cried himself to sleep.

"It was a mix of feelings. Watching my son stuck like that, I felt both sympathy and an urge to chuckle. He was so exhausted from the ordeal that even as I was cutting the bin away, he remained in deep slumber," said a visibly relieved Zhang.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
