A helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing in a paddy field in southern China.

The video was filmed in Yugan County in Jiangxi Province on October 13.

The mid-section of the helicopter's exterior shell was seen open, revealing the internal components. Several locals flocked to the site, gathering around the grounded aircraft, snapping photos and expressing their astonishment.

According to a local villager named Mrs Zhu, aound 1:00 pm, they saw the helicopter hovering above one of the rice fields in the village. Initially, they thought it was an official aircraft sent by the authorities to inspect the rice crops. But after it landed, a few young individuals emerged from the aircraft. Some stood guard by the helicopter, while others were on their phones.

Fortunately, everyone seemed unharmed. On inquiring, she learned from others at the scene that the aircraft had to make an abrupt landing due to a malfunction.

By October 14, after the malfunction was rectified, the helicopter had departed from the rice field.

当地村民朱女士介绍，当日下午1时许，一架直升机在村里一块水稻田上方盘旋了一会后，降落在水稻上。开始村民还以为是有关部门派来查看水稻情况的飞机。飞机降落后，机上下来几名年轻人，有的守在飞机旁，有的打电话，几人都平安无事。她和附近很多村民随后到现场观看拍照时，听说这架飞机因为出现了故障，所以紧急降落在稻田里。
10月14日，直升机故障排除后已自行飞走。
