A Filipino inventor built a 'water bike' for tourists to enjoy stunning sea views up-close in the Philippines.

Cycling enthusiast Jaime Ngosiok created the contraption for holidaymakers to explore the stunning beach panorama in Cebu City, Cebu province, just like they are riding bikes on land.

The water bike is fitted with two fiberglass outriggers on each side that allow it to float and glide across the water. A motor is also attached to help propel the mechanism, though earlier prototypes were entirely man-powered.

Footage shows Jaime showing his invention in action as he pedaled on glimmering waters off the coast of the city during sunset.

Jaime said: 'The water bike is made with fiberglass so in case there's damage, you can just repair it.

'I have never seen before in the Philippines a water bike with a motor. I have never seen before in the Philippines a water bike with makina. If you have a gallon of fuel from here, you can reach Bohol (46 miles away) maybe one way. But I'm planning to buy two outboard motors so it will be faster.

'It's similar to jet ski but it's much cheaper, and at the same time, you can exercise.'
