STANDUP 1 (English): OHOOD AL-JAGHOUB, Xinhua reporter in Ramallah
"We are at the northern entrance of Ramallah city where tens of Palestinians are gathering to protest against the Israeli occupation, and war on Gaza. As you can see behind me, these Palestinians have been in confrontations with the Israeli army for hours now. This military base is believed to be the central leadership of Israeli forces in the West Bank. Israel continued its bombing campaign over Gaza with air raids in multiple locations today (Wednesday), while demonstrations are widespread across the West Bank."

Hundreds of people were killed in an airstrike on the Al-Ahli Arabi Baptist Hospital in the Palestinian enclave on Tuesday.

Gaza's health ministry said the airstrike was carried out by Israel, while the Israeli military said the Islamic Jihad organization is responsible for the "failed shooting" that targeted Israel.

SOUNDBITE 1 (Arabic): Citizen in Gaza
"We came to the hospital here as a shelter. They did not have mercy on hospitals, places of worship, children, the elderly, or women. Are these the goals announced by Netanyahu? Is killing defenseless children, women, and elderly people, who were taking shelter in a civilian health facility, among your military objectives? Cars were charred by this bombing. Can you imagine what happened to humans here?"

On Wednesday, U.S. President Joe Biden met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Israel.

STANDUP 2 (English): ZHANG TIANLANG, Xinhua correspondent in Jerusalem
"U.S. President Joe Biden just finished a snap visit to Israel. In the visit, he reaffirmed the U.S. support to Israel during the ongoing conflict with Hamas, and accused Palestinian militants of conducting the explosion in a hospital in Gaza Strip on Tuesday night. At the request of Biden, Israel announced it will allow some humanitarian aid into Gaza from Egypt, as long as the supplies do not reach Hamas. It also demanded for allowing visits by the Red Cross to the hostages being held by Hamas."

Various countries have appealed for an immediate end to Israel's air strikes and blockade of the Gaza Strip.

STANDUP 3 (English): LI RUI, Xinhua correspondent in Cairo
"Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi expressed on Wednesday Egypt's strong opposition to any attempts to relocate the Palestinians from their land to the Sinai Peninsula. On Wednesday, several countries in the Middle East, including Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Iran and Türkiye, saw large-scale demonstrations in solidarity with the Palestinian people, demanding an immediate end to Israel's air strikes and blockade of the Gaza Strip."
