The fire department rescued people who got stuck after a giant wheel stopped rotating at a fair in northern India's Delhi.

This happened at the Ramleela Maidan in Delhi during the religious carnival (Navratri mela) on October 18.

Visuals showed the scary scene of the giant wheel stuck while rotating in the fair which caused panic among the riders. As a result, many were seen leaving their seats in the ride and attempted to get down the giant wheel with the help of the rods. The people on the ride reportedly kept screaming for hours with fear and panic as the giant wheel remained stuck before help eventually arrived.

As per a report, the Delhi Fire Services soon rushed to the spot after receiving information about this incident and carried out the rescue operation. Around 20 people which included four men, four children and 12 women were rescued from this stuck giant wheel as a disaster was prevented.

Speaking to Newslions, DFS director Atul Garg said,"Two fire tenders were rushed to the incident site. We rescued 20 people which included four males, 12 females and four children. No casualty has been reported and everyone was rescued safely."
