Girl runs away in tears as beluga whale playfully 'pulls a face' to her
A 2-year-old girl ran away in tears as a beluga whale playfully "pulled a face" to her at an ocean park in northern China.
The funny video was filmed at Haichang Polar Ocean Park in Tianjin on October 16.
A staff member from the ocean park explained that the beluga whale wasn't trying to scare the girl. It's more of a friendly interaction.
Belugas, known for their gentle nature, possess an intelligence level comparable to a 4 or 5-year-old child. They often have a desire to communicate when they see humans in the water. Opening their mouths or "pulling faces" as a form of interaction is not uncommon, according to the ocean park staff member.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
