Staff members were terrified by an enormous brown bear that made an unexpected entrance, crashing through the door of their dormitory in southwest China.

The video was filmed in Biru County in Tibet on October 18.

The person capturing the video described being utterly terrified as the brown bear stood taller than the door frame. The bear didn't harm anyone and, after finding two pieces of meat inside, made its exit.

On the night of October 19, the same brown bear ventured into the dorm again accompanied by a bear cub. The larger bear made off with a cooking oil container from the floor, while the cub feasted on leftovers in a bowl on the dinner table before they both departed.

The filmer mentioned that the region had experienced snowfall in recent days, making it difficult for the bears to find food in the wild, which might explain their unusual visits to the dormitory.

A local police officer explained that in high-altitude areas of Tibet, encounters with brown bears are relatively common. These brown bears are wild animals, with a body length of up to 1.8 to 2 metres and white fur on their chests. They are classified as second-level protected animals in China.

As long as they are not provoked, they generally do not pose a threat to humans. However, it is still advisable for the general public to keep their distance, as wild animals like bears can present risks.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
