A resident rescued a kitten that was stuck in her kitchen cabinet in Thailand.

The homeowner had been rummaging in the kitchen for a snack when she heard soft meows inside her house in Lopburi province on October 1.

She followed the sounds and was shocked to hear them coming from the base of her wooden kitchen cabinet. She asked help from other locals, who drilled a small hole in the fixture to locate the stray feline.

Footage shows the frightened animal huddled near the wall in the narrow gap. The rescuers lured it near the small opening and carefully pulled it out to safety.

The resident said: 'I have no idea how the cat got there. It might be someone's pet because it wasn't afraid of humans.'
