The World Health Organization (WHO) requested this Thursday $7.9 million to ensure that communities affected by the earthquakes in western Afghanistan, between October 7 and 15, receive essential health services in the next six months. .

In a statement, the entity stated that around 114,000 of the most affected people urgently need life-saving healthcare.

“The multiple earthquakes devastated villages, displaced thousands of people and left many families in urgent need of humanitarian and health assistance. The disaster has seriously affected women, girls, boys and vulnerable populations, who represent more than 90 percent of the deaths and injuries,” the document indicates.
