Quick-thinking Chinese workers leap to rescue as child accidentally starts vehicle
Two quick-thinking property management workers leapt to rescue as a child accidentally started a vehicle in northern China.
The heroic video was filmed in Dongying City in Shandong Province on October 13.
According to a staff member from the residential community's property management team, the incident began when a mother arrived at the entrance of the underground garage on her electric scooter. Due to ongoing road repairs in the community, she decided to step out of her vehicle temporarily to assess if it could navigate the area.
Unfortunately, she had not removed the keys from the ignition, and in that brief moment, her child inside the vehicle managed to start it. The scooter surged towards the entrance of the underground garage.
Witnessing the perilous situation, two maintenance workers, who were involved in community construction projects, acted swiftly and heroically. They dashed toward the oncoming vehicle, putting themselves in harm's way to prevent disaster.
One of the workers was even knocked to the ground but fortunately only sustained minor injuries and was not seriously harmed.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
