Alert pet dogs helped their owner find a wild cobra that slithered through their home.

CCTV footage shows then canines standing up when they sensed the venomous reptile had intruded into their dining room in Udon Thani province, Thailand, on October 3.

The duo kept barking under the furniture until the residents noticed something was wrong and joined in the search.

While their owners used a torch, the pet pooches looked under the furniture until they finally discovered its hiding spot under a table. The reptile was later removed.

The house owner said snakes often get inside their home, and the dogs would often alert them about it. No one was hurt, and the cobra was released into the wild.

Researchers found that 7,000 people are treated for snake bites each year in Thailand. Suchai Suteparuk from the Division of Toxicology at Chulalongkorn University reported that 30 of those die, with cobras being the biggest killer.
